Dave Neuendorf provides object-oriented software development services specializing in Java. He has been programming professionally since 1987, and as a consultant doing development staff supplementation since 1996. He can work well with your team on-site or in our own office. He can also take on small to medium size projects on his own. His specialty is client side development, with an emphasis on the Java Swing library; but he is familiar with a wide range of Java technology. |

Contract Arrangements |
We contract on a corp-to-corp basis. Dave can work anywhere in the US, but he travels home every weekend. Rates are negotiable. We are covered by Indiana workmen's comp, as well as a business liability insurance policy. |
Preferred Working Conditions |
Dave prefers a casual work environment. He likes to work long hours starting early in the morning, gathering momentum before co-workers arrive. Greater privacy for working yields greater productivity. The ideal team would be small (3 to 5 developers), though he has worked anywhere between solo and a team of 60. Dave likes to see strong development processes in place, as long as the team isn't overwhelmed with bureaucracy. He can do anything from bug fixing to new development starting with object-oriented analysis and design, preferring the latter. He is happy to work on any part of the system, but will be most efficient working with client side code. Dave has a close relationship with his family, and needs to be home as often as possible. His favorite way of working is to be on-site part of the time, and working in our home office the rest of the time. Of course, if he is needed to work on-site all of the time, Dave will do that as well. He has no problem with flying to a client site every week if necessary. |
Tools |
If the client is agreeable, Dave will use his own powerful notebook PC, loaded with his familiar development tools. These include JBuilder 8 Enterprise with OptimizeIt Suite, and third party libraries. The latter include Sitraka JClass and LOOX Software's JLOOX Visualization Suite. Some clients agree to having some of the work performed remotely. Using this mobile platform for development enables seamless transitions between on-site and remote work. |
Home Office Facilities |
For projects on which some of the work is performed at our home office, we have a high speed internet connection on a LAN. There are multiple, well-equipped computers on the network, making it possible to work on network applications. One of the computers is running Linux with apache and Tomcat, and can be used as a web server. Our proximity (30 minute drive) to the Cincinnati airport means that Dave can quickly get a Delta flight to any part of the US where a client might be located. |
